Story
Here is the story so far… I will keep adding on parts. I hope you enjoy!
Prologue
Smokey scanned the clearing as he searched for his sister, Shine. They were playing hide and seek. Right now, Smokey was the seeker. “Where are you?” Smokey asked. “You gotta find me! “ His sister barked playfully. “Aha! I heard you! You’re under the log!” Smokey rushed to the log which he and his sister loved to play near. “Aw! You got me! Now I’m the seeker!” His sister already ran to the counting spot. “1, 2, 3…” His sister started to count. “Come on! Hide already! 4, 5, 6…” Shine started to count again. Smokey ran around, looking for the best spot to hide. There! Smokey found a big rock had hid behind it. “17, 18, 19…. 20! Ready or not, here I come!” Shine dashed around the clearing, first checking under the log. “I know you’re there!” Shine growled and she pounced on the log. “Aw… You’re not…” She baked away slowly and Smokey let out a soft chuckle. Next, she checked the digging hole. Smokey and Shine, LOVED to play in it. “Not there…” Shine sighed. Her next stop was a shady area. “Aha! You must be here! With your gray pelt, it would be easy to hide there!” She ran into the darkness. Next, Smokey heard a roar and then a yowl of pain. Shine came rushing out with a bite mark on her flank and soon, a bear burst out and chased after her. “Shine!” Smokey let out a frightened yowl. “Help!” Shine ran around trying to escape. She ran out of breath and dropped on the floor, gasping for breath. “No!” Smokey rushed to his sister’s side and swiped at the bear. The bear noticed him and right away punched on him. “RRRRRRRRRRRRRWOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAR!” The bear let out a growl. When the bear hit, Smokey was sent flying. Pain seared in his sides. Blood rushed down his pelt. Next, the bear swiped at Shine. “NOOOO! DON’T TOUCH MY SISTER!” Smokey ran at the bear, hitting him hard on the side. The bear roared again and jumped on him. Smokey quickly dodged his attack and pounced on the bear’s back, biting into his fur. The bear shacked violently, making him fly off. Smokey landed on his paws. The bear than bit Shine’s scruff and threw her hard onto the ground. “STOP!” Smokey growled. Shine was stained with lots of blood, not the bear’s, her own. No matter what Smokey did, he couldn’t make the smallest scratch on the bear. The bear then turned away and ran off. “Shine?” Smokey pawed at Shine helplessly. “Shine?” Smokey asked more desperately this time. “Shine? Shine?! SHINE?!?! SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE!?!?!?!?!?!?!” Smokey broke into tears. “SHINE!!!!!!!!!” Smokey mourned for his sister, sadly. His paws felt numb. “WHY DOES THIS HAVE TO HAPPEN TO ME!?” Smokey yowled. Smokey returned home, sadly dragging himself across the open. When he returned home, his mother, Star’s eyes filled with rage. “YOU KILLED HER! YOU STUPID WOLF! GOT OUT OF HERE! NOW! JUST LEAVE! LEAVE THIS PLACE RIGHT NOW! I DON’T WANT YOU KILLING ANYONE ELSE HERE! GO!” His mother yowled at him angrily. His father just stood there, his eyes filled with rage also. “LEAVE I TELL YOU, LEAVE!” With his mother’s words, he ran away, helplessly crying. He had no family anymore, he was living alone.
Chapter 1
It has been 6 seasons since Smokey’s family had abandoned him. Smokey looked around. Aha! A baby deer! All alone! Smokey looked around to make sure there was no other animal watching. As he saw the coast was clear, he pounced on the deer, her teeth deep in its flesh. The deer started to shake and it yelped loudly. Oh no! That will attract more deer! I gotta kill it, and fast! Smokey kicked at the deer and bit it even harder. Soon, its body went limp and fell to the ground. “I’m eating deer tonight!” Smokey barked. Be sunk his teeth into the savory meat and started ripping away the ad pieces. When he was finished doing that, he started to chew on the meat. Suddenly, Smokey remembered how his father, Scar, and his mother used to catch pre for him and his sister and they would happily eat together. That’s all over now… Smokey thought. When he finished his meat, he left the rest and scampered away just in case the parents were coming back. As he leapt away, he saw a big river, and there, sat a small, bright yellow girl wolf swimming playfully in the water. Surprisingly, she was alone. As Smokey got closer, the wolf noticed him. “Why, hello! Do you need any help?” the wolf asked. “Um, no. I’m fine. Thank you though.” Smokey answered. The wolf seemed friendly so he got closer. “You’re all alone! Are you sure you don’t need any help?” the wolf jumped out of the water, landing on her paws. “I’m sure. But you’re all alone too!” Smokey was surprised that the wolf had so much energy. “Hi. I’m Sunny. Nice to meet you!” Sunny playfully circled him. “Um, I’m Smokey. Nice to meet you too.” Sunny turned and looked at him, and than frowned. “You were abandoned by your parents, right? I could tell… I was too. At a young age, my parents played a game with me. We were playing hide and seek. They said I would count and they would hide” tears came to Sunny’s eyes. “And then, when I went to look for them, they were nowhere to be found!” Sunny broke out into some more tears. “And then I never saw them again!” Smokey felt sorry. “What about you?” Sunny automatically became happy. It was like as if nothing happened. “It’s a long story.” He answered. “Oh, okay!” Sunny jumped into the river. “Wanna travel together? It’ll be fun! I LOVE to travel! And I love friends! What do you say?” Sunny swam in circles. Smokey couldn’t resist it. How could leave her alone, so helpless? “Um…” Smokey started to think. “Please?” Sunny looked at him, with big puppy eyes. “Oh, okay…” How could he just abandon such a little wolf? “Yay! Now we can travel together! And play together! And hunt together! And explore together!” Sunny jumped out of the river and bounced around. “Yay!” Sunny was so happy. “Shhhhh! You’ll scare all the pray away if you keep being so noisy!” Smokey growled. “Ok!” Sunny sat down and didn’t say anything. “Not that quiet! I meant to just be a little softer!” Smokey barked. This pup was funny. “Sure! Whatever you say! Where do you wanna go now?” Sunny asked playfully. “Um… Maybe to whatever is beyond the river.” Smokey instructed. “Okay! Let’s go!” Sunny bounded off and splashed into the river, swam across, and waited at the other side. “Come on!” She barked. “All right, all right.” Smokey answered and he leapt after her.
